Customer Support Representative-Remote

Location: El Paso, TX

The Customer Support Representative (CSR) is responsible for receiving inbound calls, emails, or chats to respond to customers’ inquiries. The CSR initiates outbound calls to update customers’ accounts.

Job Duties:

  • Respond to incoming calls, e-mails or chats regarding loan servicing.
  • Answer inquiries and notate accounts regarding information provided and actions taken in response to those inquiries.
  • Make outbound calls to follow up with customers to clarify information or provide account updates.
  • Work in a variety of systems to perform required tasks.
  • Follow processes and procedures of the Client program and performs all tasks in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Support Contact Center expectations as well as departmental and corporate policies and procedures.
  • Utilize available systems, knowledgebase, and standard technology such as telephone, e-mail, and web browser to respond to inquiries and perform job duties.
  • Refer escalated calls or inquiries to appropriate levels as needed.
  • Process requests received via general correspondence and notate accounts regarding actions taken in response to those requests.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by leadership.

Classification:  Full-time, Non-exempt

Hours of Operation:  Will vary depending on project

Compensation: $10.58 per hour + Benefits

Preferred Locations: Virtual based, Texas 79925

Industry Preferences: Education, Pre Collections Counseling, Student Loan Servicing, Credit Counseling


  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Minimum six (6) months customer service, administrative or call center experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to organize simultaneous tasks
  • Ability to type a minimum of 23 WPM
  • Basic math skills and experience working with a PC and Windows operating system
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Cannot be delinquent or in default on any federal student loans
  • May be required to work scheduled holidays, overtime and weekends
