On-the-job Coach

Location: Virtual, in the U.S.

The PearlWorks On-the-job Coach is responsible for delivering skill-based contact center training, on-the-job coaching, and career path education and coaching to provide newly hired employees with successful employment.

Job Duties:

  • Responsible for production of training schedules, all trainee pre-employment engagement, and continued guidance during first week of program participation.
  • Participates in assessing, supporting, and training of on-the-job trainees for the PearlWorks workforce development program.
  • Assessing the individuals’ skills and developing Individualized Training Plans (ITP).
  • Providing group-setting, online skills training related to job success and facilitating the development of Individual Opportunity Plans (IOP).
  • Providing direct support during contact center skills online instructor-led and self-paced training.
  • Assessing trainees’ progress and providing individualized feedback to develop greater mastery of IOP skills.
  • Communicating with individuals’ supervisor to obtain metrics on ITP progress for documentation and reporting.
  • Offer work-life resource referrals for any employment barriers being experienced.
  • Maintaining positive relationship with each trainee and staying in contact for a period of one year to track employment metrics.
  • Oversees the development and administration of dynamic data reports to ensure contract compliance.
  • Conduct trainee coaching calls, video conferences and/or emails while maintaining a high level of customer service and client satisfaction.
  • Collaboratively plan and execute on career planning training programs using existing tools and training processes.
  • Work collaboratively with Program Manager, PearlWorks Team, Training Manager, Training Team, Talent Acquisition Team, and Workforce Development agencies to ensure outreach and referral outcomes and measures are adequately tracked throughout program and reported at required intervals.
  • Develop goals for and monitor success of clients’ Individualized Training Plans (ITP) and Individual Opportunity Plans (IOP).
  • Ability to manage several projects and a portfolio of approximately 125 trainees simultaneously.
  • Ability to develop, recommend and implement plans for continuous process improvement.
  • Ensures Sr. Leadership, Executive team members, and clients are continually informed, deliverables are met and client satisfaction is achieved.
  • Conduct client engagements, virtually, in person and via written communication. 
  • Attends and participates in staff meetings and trainings as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Classification:  Full-time, Non-Exempt

Operating Hours:  8am - 5pm EST, hours may vary as this position could be reaching over 4 time zones

Preferred Location:  Virtual based, Columbus, Ohio

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field such as Business Management, Human Resources, Social Work or Employment Counseling is preferred
  • 3 – 5 years’ experience within one of the following: Recruiting, Human Resources, Workforce Development, Vocational Rehabilitation, Social Work, Counseling, Career Coaching, or Contact Center Management
  • Experience working with Supported Employment/Supported Education Programs, contact centers, and/or organizational training, preferred
  • Intermediate to Advance Microsoft Office, including Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & SharePoint
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to quickly assess priorities and make adjustments, as needed
  • Strong leadership experience managing/coaching various organizational levels
  • Excellent customer relations skills and experience
  • Willingness to work with clients in the community
